State Bank of India (SBI) is one of the most common nationalized bank of the country. It is one of the leading bank of India. SBI invites application for the posts  of Probationary officers (PO) & Probationary Officer (Rural Business) [PO(RB)]. There is 2500 posts for PO & 2000 for PO(RB).

SBI PO Important dates :
Online registration Dates : From 1st Feb 2010 To 2nd March 2010
SBI PO written exam date : 11th April 2010
Payment of Application Fees : From 1st Feb 2010 To 28th Feb 2010

SBI PO Age criteria : Should not be less than 21 yrs. & more then 30 yrs. of age as on 28th Feb 2010. There is also relaxation of age for reserved categories.

SBI PO Eligibility criteria/ Educational Qualifications : The applicant must have at least 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate marks in 12th class or diploma after 10th & 55% (50 % for SC/ST/PWD) aggregate in Graduation.

SBI PO Pay scale : Rs. 20,850/- including D.A., H.R.A., & C.C.A. The candidate will be on probation for a period of 2 years. The starting salary will be in the scale of Rs. 10000-470/6-12820-500/3-14320-560/7-18240 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.  Now one can easily learn how to read the government  pay scale.

How to apply for SBI PO exam : The eligible candidates can apply ONLINE only. They have to submit the application fee of Rs. 500 (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD) at any of SBI branch. The candidate will receive a receipt in return which contains information like journal no. branch name, branch code no., & date of deposit. This details have to used while filling the form online through the official site www.sbi.co.in or www.statebankofindia.com. The applicant will receive a call letter at their email ID which has to be shown at the time of written exam.

SBI PO Selection Pattern : The selection will be on the basis of written exam & interview. The written exam will be of 3 hrs. consisting of objective & descriptive type. The objective test will be of 2hrs. carrying 200 marks on the basis of English language, general awareness, reasoning & Data analysis. The descriptive test will be of 1hr. carrying 50 marks on the basis of English language.
