SAT Exam Pattern

SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. This is conducted for admission in American Universities for the undergraduate courses. It is administered by the US bases “College Entrance Examination Board”. SAT is held 7 times in a year i.e . in the months of October, November, December, January, April, May & April.

For taking admission in US university, it is compulsory to give SAT. This test is conducted to assess the capability of the student to undertake undergraduate program in US universities.

SAT Exam Pattern : There is 2 type of SAT test which are as follows :

  1. SAT I known as SAT Reasoning test : It is for 3hrs & 20mins. The various parts of this is -
    a. Critical reading : The candidates will be given 70 mins to attempt this section. The sections will be on the basis of sentence completion, reading comprehension & paragraph length critical reading.

    b.  Writing : The duration for this section is 60mins. The questions will be on the basis of Grammar, usage & word choice.

    c.  Mathematics : The questions will be of algebra & functions, statistics, probability , data  analysis, number & operations and geometry.



    The scoring is different for different section. It is 200 – 800 separately for each section.

  2. SAT II known as SAT Subject Test : There will be multiple choice questions in this. This will assess the knowledge of a specific subject. This test is divided into 5 general areas like English, Mathematics, History & social studies, Science and Languages.
