Presidency College in Kolkata is one of the oldest college.It was established in the year 1817. At that time, it was named as Hindu College & was founded by Raja Ram Mohan Roy with support from some of the other eminent personalities of Bengal. Later on in 1855, it was named as Presidency College. In the year 2002, it was ranked as number one college by the weekly news magazine India Today.

The infrastructure of the Presidency College is one of the finest among the all. There are 4 buildings of the college. These are Main Building, Derozio Building, Netaji Subhash Building and the Laboratory block. Also other facilities are available in the college like canteen, gymnasium, well equipped library, sports grounds for cricket, football etc.

Presidency College Admission : Admission in various courses in Presidency college occurs through admission tests which are conducted every year. The admission tests are different for different subjects.

For appearing in any of the test, first the student has to satisfy some eligibility criteria, which is different for different courses.
