PMT Exam Pattern

PMT is the key to enter in Medical college for courses like MBBS or BDS. Everyone who opted for Science stream in Std 12th wants to pursue this course. So they have to go through PMT. But everyone could not make through it as it requires hard work & determination.

PMT exam Format : Almost all the PMTs have similar exam pattern. Also you must clear the PMT eligibility to give this exam. So the most common type is as follows.
PMT consists of Preliminary examination & Main examination.

Preliminary Examination : It consists of 200 objective questions in a single paper. The questions are based on Physics, chemistry & biology. There will be 50 questions each of physics, chemistry, botany & zoology. The duration is of 3 hrs. Each question has 4 answers. You have to mark the correct one on the machine gradable answer sheet. The marking of correct answer is different for different exam which would be written on the answer sheet. Mostly it is by darkening the circle with black/blue ball pen only.

Main Examination : Those who gets through the preliminary exam are allowed to give the final test. It is of descriptive type. There will be 2 papers. Paper I will contain 20 questions (10 of physics & 10 of chemistry) carrying 100 marks. The time allotted will be 2 hrs. Paper II also contains 20 questions of 100 marks. There will be 10 questions on botany & 10 on zoology. The candidate has to complete it in 2 hrs.
