One of the most famous and reputed design school in India is National Institute of India NID which was established in the year 1961. It is under the control of government of India which is a autonomous institute under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

NID conducts National Entrance Examination of Design NEED which is for admission in various undergraduate programs in Design.

• Wigan and Leigh College, New Delhi
• Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi

NID Important Dates :

• Tentative Examination date – January 2nd week
• Submission of application form date – October 2nd week – End of October
• Tentative date of Studio tests and interview – End of April

NID NEED Eligibility Criteria : Those who wish to apply for this has to be pass in 12th std. Those who are giving the final exams can also apply. He / she should not be more than 20 years of age.

NID NEED Selection Pattern  : Firstly, there is written test which check the aptitude and skills in design. The test includes the mental ability, creativity, drawing and communication skills. Those who qualifies this are called for the studio tests and personal interview.
