NCERT is responsible for performing certain functions. These are Research, Development, Training, Extension, Publication & Dissemination & Exchange Programs. The NCERT also drafts, publishes and recommends school text books (from Class I to Class XII) of various subjects based on the recommendations of knowledgeable faculty in the subject.

NCERT Syllabus for Class 2 : A students learns properly from class 2 onwards. Here, the standard is increased to some extend. The subjects included in class 2 are English, Hindi, Mathematics. The Class 2 English book is Marigold. It has got 10 units with picture dictionary at the end.  NCERT Class 2 Maths book is MathMAgic. Here, students are also given to solve the worksheet as prescribed by the NCERT.
