National School of Drama is a autonomous institute established by the Government of India. It is one of the best institute that provides drama courses to the candidates. There is 3-years full time Diploma course for all those who wants to set their career in this profession.

NSD Eligibility Criteria : You have to satisfy certain certain before applying for the same -

  1. Age – The candidates should be between 18 – 30 years of age.
  2. Nationality – should be an Indian Citizen.
  3. Educational qualification – Should be Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Should have proficiency in English & Hindi.
  4. Academics – Should have actively participated in at least 6 plays or any other field related to theatre.

NSD Application procedure : The applicant can get the application form by sending a DD of Rs. 225/- to the Director, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi, Pin code- 110001.

NSD Selection Procedure : The selection is on the basis of screening test & interview. Preliminary Screening test is conducted at New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai & Bangalore. Those who gets selected in this has to through final round of selection which is held in New Delhi in the form of 3-5 days workshop.

NSD Scholarship : Some of the selected student swill be given monthly scholarship of Rs. 3000/- .

    I want to join in NSD, since childhood i m very much interested in creative activities but being a member of poor family i not getting any opportunities. I have been participating in dramas and theatres since childhood. This year i hve appeared for the BA 3rd year xam (fro cotton college guwahati,Assam). May i get any help from NSD if any, what to do?
