Nanotechnology is a relatively new field which has emerged really well. It is actually the study of manipulating matter on atom and molecular scale. Nanotechnology is derived from two words – Nano which means very small or miniature and Technology means techniques. This branch involves the making the devices and then doing the relevant changes with the help of atomic precision.

This course open wide range of career opportunities. Those who have done nanotechnology course finds good job prospects in the field of genetics, space research, forensic science, medicine, food & beverages, biotechnology, environment industry, teaching and many more. Even foreign companies recruits people from India who has done nanotechnology course.

There are many institutions that offer different courses in nanotechnology. Some of these institutions are Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh, National Physical Laboratory, Delhi, The IITs at Mumbai, Kanpur, Chennai, Guwahati and Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore etc.

Nanotechnology courses in India :

  • M.Tech in Nanotechnology  — For this, the candidate must have the B.E. / B.Tech in either biotechnology, or pharmaceutical technology or chemical engineering. The candidate must have at least 55% aggregate marks.
  • Advanced PG Diploma in Nanotechnology
  • M.Sc. Nanotechnology
