IIST or Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, is located in Valiamala, Thiruvananythapuram, Kerala. It was established in September 2007. This institute is the Asia’s first space institute to offer all types of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES – Under this, admission for undergraduate courses is done through ISAT i.e All India Admission Test. The various undergraduate courses available at IIST are B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, B.Tech in Avionics and  B.Tech in Physical Sciences. There are total of 156 seats in undergraduate courses. ISAT will be an objective test which consists of three sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. This exam is mostly held in April of every year.
To apply for this, one has to apply online. The application fee is Rs.600/- (Rs.300 for SC / ST / PD candidates).

POSTGRADUATE  COURSES – The Courses are M.Tech in RF and Microwave Communications and M.Tech in Applied and Adaptive Optics

DOCTORAL PROGRAMS – The courses available are Aerospace engineering, avionics, chemistry, mathematics, physics and Earth & space sciences.
