IELTS is International English Language Testing System. It is the standardized test that is is taken up by the students with the hope to get admission in various institutes of English Speaking countries. It is done for the immigration purpose.

IELTS is conducted to check whether the student is capable for seeking admission & learning in the institutions in countries where English is the medium of instruction.

IELTS Exam Pattern : This time duration of this exam is 2 hours & 45 minutes. There are 4 parts of the test. These are -

  1. Listening – It is for 30 minutes. There are 4 sections & 40 questions in total. The recordings are played only once.
  2. Reading – It consists of 40 questions from 3 passages. The duration is 60 minutes.
  3. Writing – This section is of 1 hour. In this, you have to write a report of 150 marks & describe your opinion in about 250 words.
  4. Speaking – This is for 10 –15 minutes. You have to speak on some general topics about yourself & also on a particular topic.
