IAF Airmen Examination Technical/Non Technical Trades
IAF is conducted by the government for admission in Defense services. The applications are invited from the interested male candidates for admission in Technical/ non-technical trades. This course commences twice every year- from January to June & from July to December. For January session, exam is held in August & for July session, exam is conducted in April.
IAF Airmen Examination Eligibility Criteria :
For Technical trade – The candidate should have at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects, from a recognized university. Also, he must have Diploma in engineering with at least 50% aggregate from a recognized engineering college.
For Non-technical trade – The candidate should have at least 45% aggregate marks in Matriculation or equivalent exam.
IAF Airmen Exam Age Criteria : Should be between 16 1/2 – 19 1/2 yrs. on the first day of the month in which the course is commencing.
IAF Airmen Examination Physical Standards : These are as follows-
- The height should be at least 152.5 cms.
- His expanded chest measurement should not be less than 75 cms with minimum 5 cms range of expansion.
- For Technical Trades, the aided visual acuity should be at least 6/12 in each eye with glasses or 6/6 in one eye & 6/36 in worse eye. Myopia should not exceed 7D in any meridian.
IAF Airmen exam Application procedure : The interested candidates have to submit their application (in the prescribed format as published in Employment news) on a plain paper & send it to the President, Central Airmen Selection board, P.O. 11807, New Delhi- 110010 on or before the specified last date.
IAF Airmen Selection Pattern : There will be a written test on the basis of English, intelligence, General awareness. For Technical trade, candidates also have to give test in Mathematics & science. For non technical trade, they have to appear in Trade Allocation Test.
