GATE Score
GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It the platform to get admission in M.Tech or M.E. courses in various universities & Institutes. This is conducted by IITs & IISc, Bangalore jointly. Who want to go through this, must be aware of each & every thing about GATE.
GATE Score : GATE score is a very Important document. It indicates the performance of the candidate which can be used for getting admission in PG courses. Two candidates with the same GATE score have the same performance level irrespective of different GATE papers or year of attempt.
Formula of Calculating GATE score : It is

Where, m stands for marks obtained by the candidate
a is average marks of all the candidates who appeared in same paper in GATE of that particular year.
is global marks obtained by all the candidates who appeared across all papers & years.
S is standard deviation of mark of all the candidates who appeared in same paper in GATE of that particular year.
is global standard deviation of marks of all candidates who appeared across all papers & years.
Gate score occurs become 0 to 1000. It reflects the academic ability of the candidate. This is based on the candidate’s performance in the GATE & the performance of all the candidates who appeared in GATE in the last 4 years. The relevance of GATE score is as follows -

| 300 – 425 | Above Average |

GATE Percentile Score : It is the percentage of candidates who appeared in the same paper & scored less than him / her. The formula for calculating this is -
P = ( no. of candidates who scored less marks than the candidate / N ) * 100
Where, N stands for total no. of candidates appearing in the paper.
GATE Scorecard : GATE scorecard will be send to the qualified students only. It contains the GATE Score, Percentile score & All India Rank. The scorecard will be valid for one year only. In order to issue another scorecard, candidate has to sent Rs. 300/- for each card.

my gate score is 408 and all india rank is 6363 in gate 2011. Is there any chance to get admission in any gud institute??
