Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE is the entrance test conducted for admission in M.Tech or M.E courses in one of the six IITs or IISc, Bangalore. This is one of the most prestigious exam which is conducted on all India level. There are different subjects in which this is conducted.

GATE Electronics & Communication exam details : The code of this paper is EC. The time allotted for this is 3 hours. Number of questions asked in this paper is 65. All the questions are objective type i.e each question has 4 options & you have to choose the correct one & mark them accordingly. The details of question are -
Question no. 1 – 25 carries 1 mark. The negative marking is 1/3.
Question no. 26 – 55 are of 2 mark each. For each wrong answer in this set, 2/3 mark would be deducted.
Question no. 52 & 53 and question no. 54 & 55 are linked questions i.e answer of previous question is the basis of answer of the second one. Marks allotment of 2nd question is done on the basis of 1st one. If the first question is answered wrongly then, negative marking is there but no marks would be deducted for the second question.
Question no. 56 – 60 are General Aptitude question of 1 mark each.
Question no. 61 – 65 are again of General Aptitude question carrying 2 marks each & for wrong answer 2/3 mark is deducted.
Also there are 15 questions of Mathematics.
