FMGE or Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, is the screening test conducted for those students who has the primary medical qualification from the medical council of any other country. It is conducted by National Board of Education NBE. After clearing this test, he / she gets the permission of practicing in India or pursuing further medical education here.

In order to sit for this screening test, a candidate has to be an Indian and should posses the Primary Medical Qualification from any institute which is recognized by the Government of any other country and the institute should be included in the list of WHO directory of Medical Schools.

In the screening test, there are 2 sittings in which there are 150 questions of 1 mark each, in each sitting. The candidate should get at least 50% marks to clear this screening test. There is no negative marking.
